ASSOCIATION DEDICATED TO NONPROFIT EXCELLENCE
TO HOLD CONFERENCE IN ATLANTA

Washington, DC - The Alliance for Nonprofit Management will hold its Annual Conference, July 18-20, 2007, attracting up to 500 attendees to Atlanta's Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel.

The importance of nonprofit success is shown by study after study that proves a high level of nonprofit impact on state and local economies. At the same time, every major social movement and breakthrough has involved nonprofits in the forefront, which is still true today.

The Alliance is the only organization dedicated to the profession of nonprofit capacity building.  The Conference theme - "Pathways to Nonprofit Success" - reflects the organization's goal to increase the effectiveness of individuals and organizations who help nonprofits build their power and impact.  The Alliance convenes professionals across North America to reach beyond news headlines showing how to help groups meet critical needs, hold public trust, and advance society.

Participants will take on a timely national agenda of nonprofit accountability, board governance, and leadership transitions - crucial in view of recent scrutiny of management and governance, for instance at The Smithsonian Institution, American Red Cross and NAACP. With more than 45 workshops on vital topics to the nonprofit sector, the Conference will also shed light on issues such as cultural competency (generational, racial, rural), social enterprise, advocacy, evaluation, and professional standards.

A great line-up of national and international speakers include Marc Morial, President and CEO of the National Urban League, Kim Klein, internationally known author and leader of Grassroots Fundraising, and Robert Ottenhoff, President and CEO of GuideStar. The Alliance will also honor those who exemplify excellence at its first annual Best Practices Awards Ceremony, with Atlanta's own Condace L. Pressley, Assistant Program Director of WSB Talk 750 as Emcee.

For more information about the conference, press credentials or to register, visit the Alliance online or call 202-955-8406.
