ASSOCIATION OF NONPROFIT LEADERS AND CAPACITY BUILDERS
TO HOLD CONFERENCE IN ATLANTA
More than 500 Capacity Builders, Grant Makers and Nonprofit Leaders to Attend 3-Day Conference on "Pathways to Nonprofit Success"
Washington, DC - Alliance for Nonprofit Management will hold its annual conference, July 18-20, 2007, at the Westin Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta. The Alliance Conference attracts more than 500 professionals nationwide who are dedicated to building stronger nonprofits and vibrant communities.
This year's conference theme - "Pathways to Nonprofit Success" will focus on cutting edge topics for nonprofit decision makers and capacity builders (consultants, grantmakers, researchers and educators) as they sharpen their skills and forge valuable connections. Several top industry speakers such as internationally known author, fundraising trainer and consultant, Kim Klein of Grassroots Fundraising, Inc. will headline the conference speakers list.
"We are excited to bring together leading speakers to shine a light on the paths of success that nonprofits need and sure-fire methods to achieve it, in today's environment," said Alliance Executive Director and CEO Tangie Newborn. "There is no wisdom like the understanding that sparks innovation from people and institutions doing the work day in and day out."
The conference will feature over 45 workshop sessions, several intensive all-day pre-conference sessions on specialized topics and some 60 exhibits showcasing products and services to help nonprofits maximize their strengths. Session speakers represent some of the top organizations and experts in the nonprofit field such as CompassPoint, Interaction Institute for Social Change, National Community Development Institute, TCC Group, Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management, Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation, and Women & Philanthropy.
Hot topics and pressing issues affecting nonprofits every day will also lead the pathways to much discussion and building of best practices-including generation change and other aspects of cultural competency, executive transitions, business planning, board governance, ethical standards and accountability, and financial sustainability.
"The Alliance is always proud to offer top-quality professional development opportunities uniquely tailored for nonprofit leaders and capacity builders," said Newborn. "Atlanta and its rich culture will surely pave a pathway of success for this conference."
Founded in 1997, Alliance for Nonprofit Management is located in Washington, D.C., and is the professional association of individuals and organizations devoted to improving the management and governance capacity of nonprofits nationwide.
