As capacity builders work to strengthen nonprofits, we often lift up goals of organizational effectiveness and mission impact. But what is the path to those lofty ideals? This session will explore core principles and a case study, then will guide a practitioner dialogue about the missing link--the connection of organizational culture to cultural identity--which is essential to nonprofit effectiveness.

The availability of quality capacity-building services to local nonprofits can in some cases be hit or miss, with overlaps in some service areas and gaps in others. When funders, capacity builders and nonprofits come together to share resources, knowledge and expertise, they can improve the health of the entire nonprofit community in ways that one project or investment at a time cannot. Panelists will share examples that highlight how local collaborative efforts are working, lessons learned, and potential impact. Participants will be invited to discuss approaches to strengthening linkages among capacity builders in New England.
