volunteer opportunities for your participation.

 

 

 

 

Audit Committee

The Audit Committee is a standing committee of the Board of Directors formed to assist the Board in fulfilling its responsibilities to perform an annual financial audit. The Committee shall be comprised of not less than three members, who shall be financially literate. The Chair or Co-Chair of the committee shall be a past Alliance treasurer or past member of the Finance Committee whenever possible. (view eligibility & requirements)

Awards Committee

The Alliance's Awards Committee honors excellence in capacity building each year at the annual conference. These awards confer special recognition upon members, corporations, and constituent organizations that have distinguished themselves in the capacity-building profession.

The Awards Committee is charged with assisting the board in fulfilling its responsibilities to confer recognition on outstanding members of the Alliance. The Committee shall be comprised of not less than five members who are knowledgeable about best practices in the capacity-building field. (view eligibility & requirements)

Cultural Competency Committee

Cultural competency is a major area of emphasis for the Alliance. Over the past few years, the Alliance has developed a curriculum and now offers Cultural Competency Institutes around the country. In the fall of 2008, the Alliance will publish a seminal book on cultural competency and capacity-building.

The Cultural Competency Committee is charged with assisting the Board to fulfill its responsibility to provide professional development opportunities for Alliance members, promote the highest professional standards in capacity building field and foster a national dialogue about cultural competency and capacity building. Finance/Investment Committee

The Finance/Investment Committee is a standing committee of the Board of Directors formed to assist the Board in fulfilling its responsibilities to provide oversight relating to fiscal management of the organization. The Committee shall be comprised of not less than five members who are knowledgeable about best practices in the fiscal management of a nonprofit. (view eligibility & requirements)

Governance Committee

The Governance Committee is a standing committee of the Board of Directors responsible for board recruitment and nominations, orientation of new board members, conducting a board self-assessment, and suggesting continuing education for board leadership. The Committee shall be comprised of not less than five members and no more than seven members, who are knowledgeable about best practices in the capacity-building field. Membership Committee

The Membership Committee provides guidance to the Alliance regarding elements pertaining to membership and member benefits/services in the organization. The Committee is charged with assisting the board in fulfilling its responsibilities to members of the Alliance. It shall be comprised of not less than three members who are knowledgeable about best practices in the capacity-building field. (view eligibility & requirements)

Program Committee

The Program Committee is a standing committee of the Board of Directors formed to assist the Board in fulfilling its responsibilities to provide outstanding educational and professional development programs for Alliance members. The Committee shall be comprised of not less than five members who are knowledgeable about best practices in the capacity-building field. (view eligibility & requirements)

Standards Committee

The Standards Committee is charged with assisting the Board to fulfill its responsibility to promote the highest professional standards in the capacity building field and foster a national dialogue about professional ethics and accountability in capacity building. (view eligibility & requirements)
