CALL FOR PROPOSALS

 

Have a great idea for a conference workshop? Alliance for Nonprofit Management is now accepting proposals for workshops and invites its members, sponsors and the nonprofit community to submit proposals for the 2008 Annual Conference, to be held July 9-11, 2008 in Michigan.

The Alliance is looking for creative and engaging presenters to share their expertise, new ideas and leading-edge approaches to nonprofit capacity building and executive leadership.  We invite proposals for 90-minute sessions and half-day workshops.All proposals must be submitted through the online process.

All session presenters must attend the Conference and pay full registration.

PROPOSAL SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

    1. Session proposals will be accepted by ONLINE SUBMISSION ONLY.  To submit a proposal, individuals must complete all required sections.
    2. Deadline for submission is November 1, 2007.
    3. Priority will be given to session proposals from members. To join online, click here.
    4. The Alliance Program Committee will review and determine accepted sessions.  Please pay particular attention to the guidelines and the overall conference theme when submitting proposals.  This will help ensure the overall quality of the sessions presented and will be a basis for our selection process.
    5. In addition to speaker/panelists qualifications and survey results from previous conferences, if applicable, the following criteria will be used in the selection process:

      a.  Overall enhancement of the 2008 conference theme

      b.  Active engagement of participants through group exercises, case studies, hands-on training, etc.

      c.  Content uniqueness

      d.  Content speaks to a professionally, demographically diverse audience

      e.  Current relevancy to the sector

      f.  Leading-edge methods
    6. The Alliance reserves the right to suggest revisions to proposals that are being considered for the final cut.
    7. All individuals who submit a proposal will be notified of the status of their submission in February 2008.
    8. The Alliance reserves the right to edit session titles and descriptions to better fit its marketing efforts.
    9. It will be the responsibility of workshop coordinators to contact and follow up with their co-presenter, panel speakers and to inform the Alliance office of any changes in their session.
    10. As a general rule, the Alliance, being a nonprofit organization, is unable to assume the costs of travel, hotel, or conference registration fees for session coordinators or panel speakers.

 

Deadline

Workshop session proposals must be received no later than November 1, 2007.  Proposal will only be accepted through our online process.
