DescriptionThis session will cover the federal tax-law rules governing the lobbying activities of 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. The session will define how much lobbying c3s can do, what counts as lobbying subject to those limits, several specific exceptions to the lobbying limits, and how to keep records of lobbying activity.

Eric Gorovitz, Alliance for Justice Eric Gorovitz is Director of the Alliance for Justice's West Coast Office, in Oakland, CA, where he oversees the administration of the Alliance for Justice's programs in the western States. He also conducts trainings through the Nonprofit Advocacy Project. Before joining Alliance for Justice, Eric spent 10 years in the gun violence prevention movement, most recently as Policy Director for the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence from 2000-2004.
