The Alliance for Nonprofit Management seeks nominations for the Board of Directors
The Alliance is pleased to call for self nominations for its board of directors.
We are actively seeking members - new and old - to join our committed and diverse leadership team and lend their voice and vision to the Alliance's future trajectory.
The Alliance for Nonprofit Management seeks board members who understand and support the mission and core values of the Alliance and can play an active role on the Alliance board. In addition, we seek board members who have demonstrated a commitment to improving the effectiveness of nonprofits, will lend their personal networks to the Alliance; engage the membership in helping to further the Alliance’s mission, have a strong commitment to building cultural competency within the Alliance; and support the Alliance’s fundraising efforts through their financial gift. Finally and equally important, the Alliance is seeking a board composition that will reflect the diversity of its members, with special attention to race/ethnicity, geographic region, gender, age, and role in the sector.
Given the Alliance’s new strategic focus on “research to practice,” the ideal board composition will reflect the goal for an expanded membership to include leaders from each of the Alliance’s intended constituency: 1) capacity-builders: individuals, capacity-building organizations, intermediaries, and internal capacity-builders); 2) researchers/pracademics, and; 3) funders. Board candidates must be Alliance members and committed to participating in board meetings and other board work, and actively engaging Alliance members in the Alliance’s work. (Note: the Alliance is member-led and driven and the board is a working board.)
Finalists will be announced and an online election will be conducted in November. Elected members will expected to attend the January board meeting. Board terms are for 3 years renewable once for a total of 2 3 year terms.
