Howard (Terry) Williams, III

Consultant

Howard H. Williams, III (Terry) is currently a private consultant to various organizations and increasing commitment to community service. He is the Vice Chairman, Board of Trustees, Alliance for Nonprofit Management; Chairman, Board of Trustees, National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution; Chairman of the Board of Trustees, The Washington Home and Hospice; Trustee, The Stewart Trust (foundation for cancer/child care); Member, Board of Directors, Points of Light Foundation; Board of Trustees, D.C. Community Partnership; and Board of Governors, Chevy Chase Club.

Terry recently retired from McKinsey & Company, Inc. where he was Senior Director. His client work covered a broad spectrum of industries, with concentration in financial institutions sector and government, and emphasis on strategic and organizational issues. Terry started with McKinsey & Company, Inc. in 1959. He worked in New York City from 1959 to 1969; Amsterdam, The Netherlands 1969-1976; and Washington, D.C. 1976 until he retired.

Prior to joining McKinsey & Company, Inc. he was with the Ford Motor Company; Lincoln Mercury, Marketing Division; and the New York Telephone Company, Long Range Planning Department.

Terry received his Bachelor of Arts from Yale University and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
