Beth Bubis was hired as the first President and CEO of the National Gathering for Social Entrepreneurs in April, 2002. Through the organization's merger with SeaChange in August, 2002, Beth became the President/CEO of the Social Enterprise Alliance. She brings over twenty years of experience in the nonprofit sector as a practitioner, funder, educator and consultant, and is dedicated to helping nonprofits achieve sustainability through social enterprise.
Most recently, Beth was the principal in the consulting firm, Giving Results, where she worked with nonprofit organizations around their organizational development and capacity building issues. She also consulted with businesses interested in creating new products for the nonprofit sector and those interested in improving their corporate philanthropy programs.
Prior to working as a consultant, Beth was the Vice President of Community Affairs for Bank One in Columbus, Ohio. In that capacity, she gained significant prominence for the Bank through developing a multi-faceted initiative focused on advancing the practice of social entrepreneurship in the region. Additionally, Beth is recognized for: developing a first-of- its- kind arts promotion program; bringing a chapter of a new national nonprofit to central Ohio focused on technology and schools; bringing the first franchise of an arts program focused on growing the youth market; developing a new program to help people open home-based childcare businesses; and, leading the creation of a comprehensive community project to expand accessibility to quality childcare.
While living in California, Beth spent the first eleven years of her professional life working in a variety of smaller nonprofit organizations. She started as a program director and ultimately served as an executive director. Additionally, Beth worked as a Field Educator at the School of Social Work at the University of Southern California, where she supervised the educational internships of hundreds of master degree level students and consulted with tens of nonprofits in the Southern California area.
Beth received her Masters Degree in Social Work from Yeshiva University in New York, where she concentrated her studies in community organizing, planning and administration. She received her BA with honors from the University of Florida with majors in psychology and religion.
