by Heather IliffAlliance members are increasingly savvy in their marketing approaches to reach new clients. This article provides tips and ideas from Alliance members who have experienced success in reaching out to new clients for their consulting, training, and other services.
The Alliance's third annual member survey results shows that demand for capacity building continued to rise at an even greater pace in 2005, compared with 2004 and 2003. More than 80% of Alliance members provide consulting services to nonprofits. Management support organizations, consulting firms and independent consultants make up 61% of our membership, and the remaining 39% includes grantmakers, nonprofit/charitable organizations, academic centers and associations. Referrals from Alliance members were the #1 way members learned about the Alliance.
