About the Organization:
Environmental Grantmakers Association (EGA) is a non profit membership organization comprised of over 200 foundations across North America and overseas. EGA helps its members become more effective grantmakers through information sharing, networking, and collaboration building. This work is accomplished through five project areas. EGA staff work in a fast paced environment, juggling multiple projects simultaneously.
Position Description:
Job Title: Operations Manager
Reports to: Executive Director
Compensation: $52,000 with generous benefits
Duties:
• Office Administration & Management: Aid staff in all aspects of daily administrative tasks to include reception, copying, faxing, filing, phones, and mailings. Oversee general upkeep and orderliness of the office. Oversee temp workers and interns working onsite. Respond to outside requests for information.
• Board Administration & Communications: Aid in planning all meetings of the Board through meeting scheduling (phone or locations), preparation (food, supplies, reservations, copying), travel arrangements, note taking, and pre/post dissemination of information.
• Finance Administration: Coordinate accounts payable for review by Executive Director and administration by accountant. Recruit new vendors as necessary. Research and resolve accounts outstanding with vendors. Maintain contract compliances. Coordinate and sustain the maintenance of corporate status with IRS and other legal entities. Coordinate annual audit. Order office supplies and equipment as requested. Lead staff in cost saving measures.
• Program Support: Provide administrative support for executive director or, in cases of special request, to other staff including scheduling (phones or locations), meeting preparation (food, supplies, and reservations), travel arrangements, registration, and note taking. Aid in responding to members requests. Research and compile program specific information as requested by staff and within reason of other time constraints.
• Human Resources: Coordinate all communications with HR service providers and personnel plan administrators. Aid Executive Director and board in implementing EGA polices as it regards human resources. Coordinate the search processes for new hires.
• Membership Program Support: Maintain membership database; administrate listserv; update website and coordinate with webmaster to maintain website functions.

• Strong interest in current environmental issues and related social trends.
• College degree in business administration or experience equivalent
• 2 years experience in office systems administration
• Highly organized and efficient.
• Self-directed work style
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Interesting life experience a plus
• Ability to perform under pressure, with patience and a sense of humor
• Ability to lift 50 pds.
